This creamy Citrus Tahini dressing is the perfect drizzle for all of your leafy greens. Oil free, dairy free, gluten free, and sugar free. Made in just minutes with a jar and a whisk!
Calling all tahini lovers! This creamy salad dressing celebrates tahini in all it’s glory. I love the slight bitterness it has. The citrus juice balances it out nicely, but it’s not sweet. If you prefer a sweeter dressing, you can add a tablespoon of pure maple syrup, but I love it just the way it is.
This oil-free dressing is perfect in the cooler months when citrus is prominent. So load up those leafy greens with this creamy Citrus Tahini Dressing and enjoy!
While I created this oil free tahini dressing recipe for salad, it could have so many other uses too.
I think it would be perfect paired with roasted vegetables – think sweet potatoes, sweet peppers, Brussels sprouts, carrots, and zucchini.
It would be also be delicious drizzled over sautéed greens with shallots and garlic.
And what a fun twist on tahini dressing for falafel this would be!
This hearty kale superfood salad was the original inspiration for this orange tahini dressing. I love that kale is so sturdy and can really hold up to a decent amount of dressing. Mo dressing, mo better, amiright? The apples and cranberries were the perfect sweetness to balance out the bitterness of the greens and tahini. The perfect combo.

Teresa says
Thank you for this recipe. I am *not* a fan of sweet dressings at all, and this was PERFECT! I have such a hard time finding dressings I end up liking — they are usually either too sweet, or too many ingredients and I get tired thinking about making it, so I don’t! This was so quick to make, and so easy, and tasted amazing on a raw brussel sprout, broccoli & carrot salad. Again, many thanks.
Jenn S. says
Thank you, Teresa! I’m so happy you loved it. It’s definitely my go-to dressing – so much flavor, but so easy. Your veggie salad sounds delicious!

I make tahini for my salad dressing often but never have used orange in there. Sounds so refreshing. I cannot wait to try it. Thanks

Karen @ Seasonal Cravings says
So many possibilities with this dressing! I should just make a big batch and keep it in the fridge all week. Orange and tahini sound like a match made in heaven!
Jenn S. says
Thanks, Karen! I’ve been using it on everything!
Alisa Fleming says
Orange juice is brilliant in this and I actually love that it is oil-free! Tahini is a bit too bitter for my tastes and paired w/ olive oil is often just plain overwhelming. The OJ sounds like a much better way to temper it.
Jenn S. says
Thanks, Alisa! The bitterness definitely does come out in this dressing – I LOVE it – but you can add a tbsp or two of maple syrup to balance it out more (or blend it up with 1-2 dates). Enjoy!
Alisa Fleming says
Oh dates! That’s a good idea. Adds thickness, too. I’ll have to try that.
Jenn S. says
Let me know if you do!

Sounds great! And I love that you don’t have any oil in there. Sometimes dressings are so oil-heavy that it’s hard to taste anything.
Jenn S. says
I definitely prefer my dressings oil-free. And the tahini has enough natural oils, that it’s super creamy without needing any extra! Thanks, Rachel!
