Green Vegetable Juice you’ll actually want to drink! Sweetened with apples, this green juice is very mild and a great place to start if you are just getting into juicing!

Green Vegetable Juice w/ Apples

One of my new year resolutions is to juice more. I tend to juice all the time in the summer when I can simply walk out to my garden, grab a bunch of vegetables and juice all-the-things. It’s harder in the winter because I need to make sure I’m all stocked up from the grocery store. I tend to use all the veggies I buy for food, not drinks. But, I love juice and it’s incredibly healthy, so I’m making it a point to drink up! This Green Vegetable Juice with Apple is a great mild combo that everyone will love…even kids!

Green Vegetable Juice w/ Apples

I’ve had several readers message me about juicing – Do I juice? What recipes are my favorite? Can I recommend a juicer. Etc. These messages are great reminders that I want to juice more often and finally put up some juice recipes on the blog!

This green juice is one of my favorites. The apples help sweeten it up so it doesn’t taste like you are drinking salad. The parsley really helps to liven it up, too, as it lends a nice light citrusy flavor. If you think you don’t or won’t like green vegetable juice, give this one a try!

Green Vegetable Juice w/ Apples

I’ve only used one juicer so I can’t really say if this is the best one, but I do love it!! I use this Breville Juice Fountain. It’s super quick and easy, the pulp comes out bone dry and clean up is a snap! Just make sure to wash everything right away. If you let it sit, it will be harder to clean.

Juice vs. Smoothies

So, is juice better than smoothies? I guess that depends on who you ask. Personally, I don’t feel one is better than the other, they are just different, and there is room for both in a healthy diet. Because all of the fiber is left out of juice, the nutrients are absorbed right into your cells and bloodstream very quickly. Because you want the benefits of these quick nutrients, juice is best on an empty stomach. It also means green juice is the perfect afternoon pick-me-up…giving you an immediate recharge.

More Veggies than Fruit

I certainly wouldn’t recommend juicing to be the ONLY way you consume green veggies, but it is an easy way to add a lot of variety to your diet and try new vegetables that might not seem appealing otherwise. Just be sure to use at least 3-4 vegetables for every fruit. The only reason the fruit should be there is to balance out the flavors, NOT to make it sweet like juice you would find from a carton.

I love cucumber in my green juice. It definitely makes it super refreshing and it also makes a lot of juice to make up for the dark leafy greens that don’t yield quite as much! Good for you for drinking a green smoothie every morning…super healthy!

That’s a lot of juice so you must have a really good juicer. I hear the output varies depending on the machine.

I love juicing and this one looks great. It’s a good introduction to ‘hulk’ juice as I call it! A handful of fresh herbs make the world of difference. I love to add some mint too.
This morning I had a use up everything in the fridge kind of juice and used beet leaves for the first time. It was great and I’ll certainly be doing that again. Worth a try if you haven’t juiced them yet!

I haven’t tried juicing beet greens, but now I will! Good to know! And Sophia told me that mint was great in juice too, which I also haven’t tried. Again, putting it on the list! Thanks, Mel! And I like the name Hulk Juice…kids will love that name!

Thanks, Latisha! This one is a great starter juice. The apple helps mask the raw veggie flavors and sweeten it up just enough. If you try it, I’d love to hear what you think!

I love juicing and invested in a Breville just to make sure I kept it up 🙂 but sometimes I just am lazy and use the blender.
My kids love a juice made simply with carrots, lemon, ginger & apples. I’m a fan of green drinks but my favorite green blender drink is water, spinach, romaine, pear (or apple), lemon & 1/2 banana.

Juicing is something I would definitely like to do more of. I bought a juicer on a whim and it really hasn’t seen much action at all. I just couldn’t find a juice that got me excited about juicing. But I think I am going to have to give juicing another try with this recipe!

Hi, Rebecca! I have definitely had many juices that didn’t do it for me either. You just need to experiment with different flavor combos. This one is great because it’s nice and light and the apple balances out the flavors nicely. If you try it, please come back and let me know how you liked it!!

I have never added mint to juice before, Sophia. I’m not a huge mint fan…I can handle it in small doses. I know it’s great for soothing the stomach though. I’ll have to try it! Thanks!

The perfect starter juice, I would love to try it! I’ve considered investing in a juicer many times in the past but never actually done it. I appreciate your feedback on the Breville fountain before because I’ve heard good things and I like that it’s not too pricey compared to others. But I like Linda’s idea to to just make a smoothie out of it all! You could even strain it I suppose for a blender juice.

Yup, you could definitely make it into a smoothie and strain it…or not. I do love the Breville Juice Fountain. My parents got it for me for Christmas a few years ago and they did quite a bit of research at the time. I really love that it’s so easy to clean! 🙂
