This Superfood Smoothie is full of nutritious ingredients that will have you glowing from the inside out!

Daylight hours are decreasing here in the U.S. Midwest and the humidity and temps are starting to drop. That means less time outdoors in the sunshine and saying hello to dry, dull skin.
My skin gets so dry each winter that a bucket of lotion a day wouldn’t fix the problem. This year, I’m tackling the problem from the inside out – making sure I stay hydrated and eating and drinking plenty of healthy fruits and veggies.
Let’s get that perfect glow together starting with this healthy and delicious Superfood Smoothie!

It’s important to lead a healthy lifestyle in addition to fueling yourself with superfoods. As much as I’d like to claim it, this superfood smoothie is not a miracle worker.
Keep your body active, minimize alcohol and processed foods, use natural skin care products, steer clear of sugary treats, eat organic when possible, manage your stress (yoga is a favorite of mine!), exfoliate your skin (I’ve been dry brushing lately and it’s fabulous!), get plenty of sleep, and eat a whole foods plant based diet as much as possible.
Starting your morning with this dairy free powerhouse of a smoothie will energize you and set the tone for the rest of your day. It can be made in just about 5 minutes and is easily portable.

I’ve never used clementines in a smoothie before, sounds tasty!
Jenn S. says
I love using clementines – they are so juicy. And being seedless is a huge bonus too! I have Creamy Clementine Smoothie on the blog too – tastes like a creamsicle – so good! Thanks, Mary Ellen!

Thanks! Drink up. 🙂
Sarah- A Whisk and Two Wands says
I’m a sucker for a good smoothie, for years I didn’t go a day with out them! I always enjoy a good smoothie with avocado as it makes them so thick and cream. Can’t wait to try this one, I have everything for it too!
Jenn S. says
I’m totally on a smoothie a day kick too. I love adding avocado too for the healthy fats (great for the skin!) and the creaminess Thanks, Sarah!

So you’re saying you back this claim up? Who do I call if my skin doesn’t glow?! Is it instant?! LOL! But really, I love all those flavors! Smoothies are a daily thing for me and I’m always looking for new ideas. YUM!
Jenn S. says
Maybe you missed the paragraph where I said it’s NOT a miracle worker. LOL! One step among many to get healthy from the inside out. 🙂
Alisa Fleming says
So you mean this cookie I’m eating isn’t going to help my dull skin? 🙂 Thankfully, this smoothie sounds as delicious as it is healthy – I love the clementine twist!
Jenn S. says
HaHa! Well, maybe…is it a superfood cookie? 🙂 How about a cookie alongside a healthy smoothie?

I love the idea of moisturizing from the inside out, rather than slathering chemicals onto my skin!
Jenn S. says
Right?! I’ll still use lotion, but I’ve been using Acure – it’s all natural. So far, I love it!
amanda -runtothefinish says
Just this week I got back on my smoothie kick and I totally need to add some avocado so that it lasts me longer! I like it when mine are nice and thick too!
Jenn S. says
The avocado definitely adds some staying power with the fiber and healthy fats. And yay for super thick and creamy smoothies!
Becky Striepe says
Oh yum! I love the rainbow in this smoothie. It sounds amazing!

Jenn S. says
Super creamy! Gotta love the healthy fats! 🙂
Cadry says
This sounds perfect! My skin gets so unbearably dry in the winter too. With the heat going plus living on harsh well water, my poor skin can use all of the hydration it can get. Love the addition of avocado in your smoothie!
Jenn S. says
These midwest winters are doing nothing for us!! 🙂 We’ve been lucky so far and had an absolutely beautiful fall. I have a feeling that will be coming to an end rather soon.
Rebecca - Strength and Sunshine says
No way you can miss out on any micronutrients now!
Jenn S. says
Exactly! 🙂
Vivian | stayaliveandcooking says
I have exactly the same problem – my skin gets so dry that nothing will help! I’m definitely going to try your method: you know what they say ‘beauty comes from the inside out’ 😉
Jenn S. says
Yes! Let’s combat the problem not just the symptoms! Fingers crossed for the both of us! 🙂
