Coconut water is full of natural electrolytes to hydrate and energize you. If you’re feeling run down, need an energy boost, or just need to sip on something yummy, this coconut water smoothie is just the thing you need! It’s so delicious!
The sweetness of the banana and blueberries balance out the tartness of the cranberries, making this delicious beverage neither too sweet, nor too tart. The spices bring a nice warming and calming flavor.
Ingredients you need
Ingredient notes and substitutions
Coconut Water: Coconut water is the naturally sweet, clear liquid found inside young coconuts. Luckily, it’s readily available in shelf-staple cartons in most grocery stores these days.
Cranberries: I always overbuy fresh cranberries in the fall and winter and freeze them so I can use them all year. If you don’t have cranberries and can’t find them in the stores, you can substitute with raspberries, tart cherries, acai, or even strawberries. For a slightly different take try my creamy Cranberry Smoothie.
Blueberries: Blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, or can be subbed for blueberries if you prefer.
Spinach: Just like in my Blueberry Oatmeal Smoothie, I always like to sneak in some leafy greens whenever I get a chance.
Banana: Ripe bananas provide natural sweetness.
Chia Seeds: To help thicken the smoothie
Cinnamon: Because it’s tastes so so good!
Ginger: This warm spice complements the other flavors well.

Pro tips and tricks
~ Use frozen fruit to create a thick, creamy texture.
~ If using fresh fruit, be sure to add ice.
~ Feel free to swap out the fruits for what you like best or what you have on hand. Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc. will all work.
~ Coconut water is not the same as coconut milk…although both would be yummy in this recipe.

Made this, this morning. Btw amazing. Just using it as a reboot from a long week at work and working out. I can’t find cranberries in my small town. So I bought organic raw cranberry juice. Turned it into cubes and blended away lol. If there’s a will there’s a way.

Ice cubes made from cranberry juice is SO SMART!! I actually have some Tart Cherry Juice in my fridge that needs to be used up and I think I will do that. Thanks! So glad you loved the smoothie!
Maxie
I make ice cubes from the coconut water. I have to watch raw greens and certain ingredients due to my hypothyroidism but interested to see how these flavors meld together.
