    Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! Before we had kids, going out for brunch on a weekend morning was a regular occurrence. 

    I usually go for savory dishes, but when I was pregnant, sweet breakfast recipes like french toast, waffles, and cinnamon rolls were my jam.

    Brunch should be relaxing and fun. Follow these tips for a low-stress meal, even if you’re the host.

    Plan your menu – Choose a good mix of breakfast and lunch far, a mix of sweet and savory, and a nice balance of healthy and indulgent. Be sure to include all the groups: protein, whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and healthy fats.

    Prep ahead – Choose recipes that can be made in advance, like casseroles, baked goods and salads. Prep any other ingredients that you’ll need the day of like grinding coffee, chopping fruits and veggies, or whisking up dressings and sauces.

    Set your dining table – Choose durable dishware, cups and mugs, and utensils that can go from tabletop to dishwasher. The last thing you want to do after a relaxing meal is hand wash dishes! A pretty vase of flowers never hurt either.
